Where and when to watch Pixel 9 launch event today
Google is gearing up for its annual 'Made By Google' launch event, scheduled for today. The focus of this year's gathering will be on hardware innovations, primarily the Pixel 9 range of premium smartphones. The event will kick-off at 10:30 pm IST at Google's headquarters in Mountain View, California. The in-person event will be live streamed on the official YouTube channels of 'Made By Google' and 'Android' for the global audience.
Pixel 9 series: What to expect
The Pixel 9 series will include four models: Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL and 9 Fold. The Pixel 9 and 9 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display while the XL variant will offer a 6.8-inch screen. The Pixel 9 Fold will feature a 6.3-inch outer display and an 8-inch main screen. All four handsets will be powered by Google's Tensor G4 SoC, paired with up to 16GB RAM. They will also boast a refreshed design and updraged cameras.
Google's third-generation Pixel Watch and earbuds
In addition to the Pixel 9 series, Google will unveil its third-generation Pixel Watch at the event. The new watch could feature an "XL" model with a 45mm dial, alongside the standard variant with a 41mm case. It will also boast an improved display and ultra-wideband (UWB) chips for short-range communication and location tracking. The tech giant may also introduce the second-generation Pixel Buds Pro wireless earbuds with enhanced audio quality and a variety of color options.
Android 15 OS to debut on Pixel 9 series?
The 'Made By Google' event is likely to mark the release of the latest Android 15 operating system. This update follows the final scheduled update in the Android 15 beta program, indicating its readiness for general users. However, previous reports suggested that Pixel 9 series may miss Android 15 at launch. The new OS will introduce features such as satellite connectivity, improved NFC, a private space for hiding sensitive information, theft protection, and a redesigned user interface.
