Pixel 9 Pro Fold's first sale tomorrow, priced at ₹1.73L
Google's newly launched Pixel 9 Pro Fold is set to go on sale in India from tomorrow i.e. September 4, starting 12pm. It is the tech giant's first foldable smartphone in the country since the Pixel Fold was not introduced here. The device was unveiled on August 13 alongside the new Pixel 9 series handsets and carries a price tag of ₹1,72,999. This new addition to Google's product line-up will be available exclusively in one finish and storage option.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold: A look at the features
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold sports an 8.0-inch (2,076x2,152 pixels) OLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,700-nits of peak brightness. There is a 6.3-inch OLED cover screen with the same refresh rate and brightness level as the flexible main display. The device is powered by the Tensor G4 SoC, which is also found in other Pixel 9 models. Its rear camera setup offers a 48MP main snapper, a 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto shooter.
Google's expanded product range in India
Google has surprised the Indian market by launching not just two, but four Pixel smartphones this year. The tech giant has also introduced the Pixel Watch 3 series and the Pixel Buds Pro 2 TWS earphones. However, among all these new products, only the Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro XL are currently available for purchase via Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital.
Limited options for Indian buyers
For Indian buyers, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will only be available in the Obsidian finish and with 256GB of internal storage. This may seem a bit less for a phone that is priced upwards of ₹1.7 lakh. However, like with the Pixel 9 Pro XL, Google is expected to bundle 2TB of Google One's Gemini Advanced plan, which is free for a year.
