Google slashes prices of Pixel 8 series, 7a in India
What's the story
Google has announced significant price cuts for its previous generation smartphones in India. This move follows the recent launch of the flagship Pixel 9 series.
The price reduction applies to the entire Pixel 8 lineup, which includes three models, and select variants from the Pixel 7 series.
This announcement comes just a day after Google confirmed that production for the standard Pixel 8 has commenced in India.

Price cuts across all storage configurations for Pixel 8 range
The price cuts announced by Google are applicable to all storage configurations in the Pixel 8 smartphone lineup.
The most significant discount is on the Pixel 8 Pro, which was initially retailing for ₹1,06,999 for the base 128GB storage model and is now priced at ₹99,999.
The starting price for the standard Pixel 8 has also been reduced from its launch price of ₹75,999 to ₹71,999.
In comparison, the new Pixel 9 range starts in India at ₹79,999.

Additional discounts on Pixel 8a and Pixel 7a

The 8a now starts at ₹49,999, while the 7a will cost you ₹41,999.
The new pricing structure is expected to make these smartphones more accessible to a wider range of consumers.
However, on e-commerce sites, these handsets will likely sell for much lower.
For instance, on Flipkart, Pixel 8 is currently selling for ₹58,999, while the 7a is listed at ₹36,999.
