Google Pixel 4a new leak confirms key design features
A few of hands-on images of the Google Pixel 4a have surfaced on the internet, reiterating some of the key design features of the upcoming low-cost handset. The leaked images validate the presence of a punch-hole design, squarish rear camera module with a single lens, a conventional fingerprint reader, and a headphone jack on the device. Here are more details.
Here's a look at the leaked images
Pixel 4a will adopt a punch-hole design
Google's second budget phone, the Pixel 4a, will feature an in-trend punch-hole display and thinner bezels to ditch the forehead design of the flagship Pixel 4 as well as its radar-based face recognition. On the rear, the polycarbonate body will house a Pixel 4-like square camera arrangement and a physical fingerprint scanner. Interestingly, the top section will offer a headphone jack as well.
Single front and rear cameras
As a scaled-back offering, the Pixel 4a will sport a single rear camera as opposed to the dual-lens unit we saw on the flagship model. On the front, it will offer a single selfie snapper. However, the specs are unknown as of now.
What else do we know about the Pixel 4a?
Under the hood, the Pixel 4a is expected to pack a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. However, it remains to be seen if Google will opt for a 600-series or a more advanced 700-series chip. Further, it is said to come with a 5.8-inch screen, 64GB of storage, and a near 3,000mAh battery, which should support 18W fast charging via a USB Type-C port.
When will Pixel 4a launch?
Google was expected to launch the Pixel 4a at its annual I/O conference later this year in May. However, the event has been canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. So, the company could now announce the handset sometime in Q2 2020 in a low-key manner.
