Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL to launch on October 9
Google is expected to launch its 2018 flagship smartphones, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, in early October. And while an earlier leak hinted at an October 4 launch, a Bloomberg report has now tipped that new Pixel 3 smartphones will be unveiled on October 9 in New York City. Here's what the Bloomberg report suggests
Bloomberg, in its report, has given information about the upcoming three iPhones, redesigned iPad Pros and other peripherals that Apple is expected to launch in September. Further, citing people familiar with Google's plans, Bloomberg said the tech giant "plans to debut new Pixel phones on Oct. 9 at a media event in New York City." Notably, Google has declined to comment, added the report.
Meanwhile, Glass backs and notched displays are on the cards
Unlike previous Pixel devices which were mostly made of metal, Google has decided to give the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL a full glass back. Whether that'll also mean wireless charging remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the Pixel 3 will feature a display with slim top and bottom bezels, while the Pixel 3 XL will feature a bezel-less notched display.
Seems like Google is going for dual front cameras
Both the phones, according to the renders, seem to spot a single camera module at the back, indicating that Google has decided not to go with the trends of dual and triple rear cameras. Interestingly, the renders show dual front cameras, which echoes an earlier report by Bloomberg. However, it's unclear as to whether both are cameras or one is an ambient light sensor.
Well, what about the specs of the phones?
As for the specifications of the Pixel 3 devices, nothing concrete is known. However, it's expected that both the phones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processors, paired with at least 6GB of RAM. Moreover, both the phones will run Android Pie out-of-the-box.
