Google Photos finally lets users fix their mirror-image selfies
What's the story
Google Photos has added a handy new feature — the ability to horizontally flip your mirror-image selfies.
The update comes as a solution to the common problem of reversed content in images, something we often see while using the front-facing camera on smartphones.
The feature was first spotted in September, but it appeared like Google was rolling it out gradually across devices.
User guide
Steps to use the new feature
To use the new feature, users will have to select an image in Google Photos, tap on the Edit button, and select Crop tools.
Now, find the flip button between rotation and perspective correction options, and hit the Save button.
Before this update, Google Photos users could only rotate, resize, or change the aspect ratio of images.
The new feature is also useful in adjusting text in images, creating artistic effects, or simply improving a picture's appearance.
Platform availability
It is currently limited to Android
As of now, the flip feature is only available on Google Photos for Android. The tech giant has not given a timeline for when this tool would be available on iOS.
Previously, users had to rely on third-party apps for flipping images. But now, with this integrated tool in Google Photos, editing pictures has become a whole lot easier.
