Google Pay now supports peer-to-peer payments, mobile ticketing
Google is rolling out a bunch of updates on its Google Pay platform. These mainly include support for mobile ticketing and peer-to-peer payments. The features that were first announced earlier this year and that are supported by other rival services like Apple Pay for years now are finally going live on Google Pay. Here's more.
Send and request money from friends and family
Earlier, users could send and request money from contacts on the Google Pay Send platform, but now this functionality has been merged into the main Google Pay app. This migration of service has happened so that users can access all basic payment services at one place. With the new feature, you can request payment from up to five people.
Save your plane tickets on Google Pay
Users can now save concert passes, plane tickets, boarding passes and the like on the Google Pay app. For this, the app has partnered with select third-party ticketing platforms and companies from which your tickets can be directly saved. They will be under a new "Passes" tab that will also feature loyalty cards and gift cards.
Recently rebranded
Earlier this year, Google combined all of its different payment platforms and services including Android Pay and Google Wallet to launch Google Pay. The idea was to offer a unified payments service to Android users.

Gerardo Capiel, Director of Product Management at Google Pay, said, "You can use Google Pay on desktop or on iOS, in stores or on transit, on your phone or with your Assistant." "Everything is synced with your Google Account, so if you update your payment info on the web, it'll be reflected on your phone," he added.
