Google Meet will let you send in-call messages, emoji reactions
Google Meet, the popular video calling platform, is set to receive a significant update in the coming weeks. The forthcoming upgrade will introduce an improved user interface (UI) and additional features such as in-call messaging. These enhancements were previously exclusive to meeting sessions but will now be accessible during the personal video calls as well.
Closer look at new add-ons
The updated UI for Google Meet will closely resemble the meeting interface, making call controls more accessible. The new in-call messaging feature will allow users to share links and comments while their microphone is muted. This update also introduces emoji reactions for group calls, the ability to layer effects like backgrounds and filters, and screen-sharing options during calls.
Enhanced audio-only experience on mobile app
Google is also revamping the mobile app interface to provide a superior audio-only experience with larger buttons. The tech giant promises that users will be able to seamlessly switch a call from their PC to an Android phone or tablet. This update marks another milestone in the gradual integration of Duo and Meet's features into a unified experience.
