The e-commerce website Flipkart has listed the smart speakers on its site revealing some key features and confirming the launch date. Powered by Google Assistant, these voice-enabled smart speakers can perform a plethora of tasks - play music, set alarm or reminders, get news updates, cast videos and control smart home appliances. These speakers can also be customized using interchangeable bases that come in several color options. In addition to Google's default Play Music service, the speakers also support Gaana and Saavn streaming services.

Launched last year in India, Amazon's Echo speakers offer Saavn music service along with other services such as online food delivery via Zomato, Amazon shopping, booking cabs via Ola and Uber, among other options. With Google competing directly with Amazon, this space would become interesting.
