Google Home smart speaker to come to India in April
According to reports, Google will launch its voice-enabled smart speakers Google Home and Google Home Mini in India in April. They are powered by the Google Assistant and can perform tasks like setting up reminders, controlling music and controlling smart home appliances on voice commands. Recently, Amazon also launched its own line of Alexa-enabled Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Plus smart speakers in India.
Google Home can play music, answer questions
The Google Home would be priced around Rs. 8,400. The digital speaker learns to recognize your voice and acts as a hub for a connected home. Apart from playing music, which is considered to be a speaker's primary function, it can answer Google Search queries and help manage tasks around your house. The Google Home has interchangeable bases with several color options.
Google Home Mini allows multiple users to use Google Home
The Google Home Mini corresponds to the Amazon Echo Dot and is a smaller speaker, but comes equipped with Google Assistant. The circular shape of the device allows for 360-degree sound and one can connect it wirelessly to Chromecast speakers. The Wi-Fi-enabled speaker was launched last year in October for Rs. 3,200. Notably, both the devices are making their debuts in India pretty late.
Connect Google Home to other Bluetooth speakers
After receiving a lot of flak for not including 3.5mm jack in these devices, Google has brought in a new update which lets these devices send audio to other Bluetooth enabled speakers. Better late than never!
