Google Drive can now save your scanned documents as JPEGs
Google Drive has introduced a new feature that permits users to save scanned documents as JPEGs, in addition to the existing PDF format. This update was announced in a Workspace Updates post by Google. The tech giant stated that this facility will be available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
Feature rollout and accessibility
The new feature is currently being rolled out to users on both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. Google anticipates that it will be accessible within the next 15 days on both Android and iOS platforms. This update aims to simplify the process of uploading scanned documents, making them easier to share with others due to their smaller file size compared to PDFs.
Additional tools in the new update
The latest scanner update also provides users with direct access to additional tools such as automatic capture and cropping, options for erasing stains or fingers that might have appeared in the document, and filters for enhancing text visibility.
