Google highlights 2024 IPL grand finale with special doodle
Google Doodle is celebrating the grand finale of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) set to happen today at 7:30pm. The tournament started with 10 teams from across India, divided into two groups. Each team played 14 games, split evenly between home and away matches. The top four teams after the group stage advanced to the high-stakes Qualifier and Eliminator stages.
KKR and SRH finished at the top
The final match of the tournament will see Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vying for the IPL17 title at Chennai's iconic Chepauk Stadium. KKR secured their spot in the final with a strong league stage performance, finishing at the top with nine wins, three losses, and two no results. Despite losing to KKR in Qualifier 1, SRH earned their place in the final by defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2 with a 36-run victory.

Both KKR and SRH have shown impressive performances throughout the tournament. Each team posted six totals over 200 runs - the highest by any team. SRH even crossed the 250-run mark thrice, including setting an IPL record of 287/3 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

The teams are led by Shreyas Iyer for KKR and Pat Cummins for SRH. As fans eagerly await to see which team will emerge as this year's champion, Google's doodle adds to the excitement surrounding this thrilling finale.
