Chrome extension allows you to (sneakily) watch Netflix at work
Do you often get bored at your job? Does your boss constantly complain about your lack of productivity? Are you a closet anarcho-communist forced to work an exploitative job under capitalism and just want some revenge? Well, we have just the thing to put you out of your misery. Apparently, a Google Chrome extension lets you watch Netflix at work in secret.
Chrome plugin disguises Netflix as a work video conference
Developed by MSCHF Internet Studios, an extension for the Google Chrome web browser, called 'Netflix Hangouts,' allows users to watch films, shows, etc., on the online streaming service without getting your boss or co-workers to hate you. 'Netflix Hangouts' disguises whatever you're watching as the bottom-right panel on a fake four-person videocall to make it seem like you're on an important work conference call.
Earlier, MSCHF also started game on Slack channel
True to its name, MSCHF Internet Studios has been responsible for roguery on the internet in the past. Earlier this year, the company had started out a Slack channel game- The Word of the Day Is- offering $1,000 via Venmo to the first person to guess the word of the day. Slack later shut it down as it's not "a platform for consumer games."
Trying to keep the internet a fun place, says founder
To note, MSCHF Internet Studios is a creative agency based in New York, US. In April, founder and CEO of the company, Gabriel Whaley, had told The Verge, that they are "just trying to keep the internet a fun place and an escape."
Some other mischief attributed to the company
The company also made a new font named 'Times Newer Roman,' which doesn't look noticeably different from Times New Roman, but makes your writings look 10% longer. They'd also designed a virtual avatar 'Tabagotchi' that slowly dies as you open more browser tabs. They also have a YouTube channel with videos of a man eating celeb-shaped and disgusting foods on camera.
