Google rolls out Chrome Enterprise Premium with enhanced security
US tech giant Google has finally introduced Chrome Enterprise Premium, a new addition to its existing Chrome Enterprise suite. The premium version, priced at $6 (around ₹499) per user per month, offers an expanded set of features with a focus on advanced security controls. This launch was announced at a recent conference by Paris Tabriz, Google's VP for Chrome.
Addressing endpoint security complexities in modern enterprises
Chrome Enterprise Premium is designed to address the increasing complexities of endpoint security in today's businesses. Tabriz stated, "Authentication, access, communication and collaboration, administration, and even coding are all browser-based activities in the modern enterprise." He emphasized the importance of browser-based endpoint security due to the rise in remote work, and influx of new devices beyond an organization's managed fleet.
Chrome Enterprise Premium's upgraded features
The upgraded features of Chrome Enterprise Premium include enhanced enterprise controls for policy enforcement and software update management. The service introduces innovative security reporting capabilities and forensic tools that can be linked with third-party security applications. Additionally, it enhances Zero Trust by introducing context-aware access controls, to reduce data leak risks from both approved and non-approved applications.
Industry leaders trust Google's security prowess
Nick Reva, a top executive at Snap responsible for corporate security engineering, expressed his trust in Google's security capabilities. He shared, "With Chrome Enterprise Premium, we set up data loss prevention restrictions and warnings for sharing sensitive information in applications like Generative AI platforms and noticed a noteworthy 50% reduction in content transfers." The service is now accessible to all organizations.
