Now you can swiftly block annoying notifications on Chrome
Google has introduced an innovative feature to its Chrome browser, designed to improve user experience by allowing easy cancelation of unwanted website notifications. Initially available on Pixel devices, this feature is set to be extended to more Android devices soon. It includes a straightforward unsubscribe button within the notification itself, enabling users to swiftly unsubscribe from undesired websites. There's also an undo button if you decide you still want those notifications.
Safety check feature and permission management
In addition to the unsubscribe button, Google has also improved its Safety Check feature. This runs in the background, automatically revoking permissions from websites that have not been visited for an extended period or are deemed potentially harmful. The actions taken by this feature can be viewed in a summary panel, which also highlights other possible security issues such as compromised passwords and outdated software.
One-time access for websites introduced
Chrome has further enhanced its user experience by introducing a feature that allows one-time access to websites for various permissions such as microphone and camera. This means that after completing tasks like virtual doctor visits, the browser will automatically revoke the website's access to your camera. This new feature aims to provide users with more control over their online privacy and security.
