Google holds its first-ever Developer Students Club Summit in Goa
Google has commenced its first ever Developer Students Club (DSC) Summit in India. The three-day summit, from February 23 to 25, is being held in Goa and aims at creating a pool of a highly-skilled workforce in the country. It will provide Indian students with a head-start on current technologies like machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI) and mobile and web development.
200 students will attend the summit
The inaugural batch of the summit will consist of 200 student ambassadors from 98 cities across 170 colleges in the country. The attendees will not only learn about various emerging technologies through a series of engaging sessions but also indulge in hands-on activities. They will be mentored by experts from Google and other industry leaders.
Students to come up with innovative solutions to problems
The summit will also hold a Design Thinking workshop. It will encourage students to find creative and innovative solutions to various non-linear problems of the country by deploying advanced technologies to look for a solution.
Google wants to train two million developers in India
The DSC summit comes as a part of Google's program of training two million developers in India. In this regard, the company also provided 130K scholarships to both working professionals and students last year, so that deserving developers can have access to new-age technology and the opportunity to hone their skills. Notably, Google plans to host several such summits in the next 12 months.
