#LeakPeek: Nokia 8.1 to feature Snapdragon 710 SoC, Android Pie
HMD Global is reportedly working to launch Nokia 8.1 as the successor to the Nokia 8 Sirocco which was released in April this year. The upcoming smartphone has been spotted on GeekBench - a cross-platform processor benchmark. As per the GeekBench listing, the Nokia 8.1 will feature a mid-level Snapdragon 710 processor and run Android Pie out-of-the-box. Here's our roundup of Nokia 8.1.
Firstly, what are GeekBench's scores?
GeekBench is a benchmark platform which grades processors on their single-core and multi-core performances. While calculating multi-core scores, GeekBench runs multiple streams of instructions simultaneously per core and reports an aggregate score. With single-core scores, the same process is applied but on a single core. Notably, the quicker a CPU completes the instructions, the higher is its GeekBench score.
GeekBench listing reveals Nokia 8.1's specs
The GeekBench listing of the Nokia 8.1 highlights a single-core score of 1,841 and a multi-core score of 5,807. The listing also reveals that Nokia 8.1 will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor coupled with at least 4GB of RAM (6GB RAM variant also expected). Moreover, as noted in the GeekBench scorecard, the upcoming Nokia phone will run Android Pie out-of-the-box.
What else to expect from Nokia 8.1?

For comparison, Nokia 8 Sirocco came with a more powerful Snapdragon 835 chipset and QHD+ display while Nokia 8.1 would feature Snapdragon 710 processor. Notably, the Nokia 8 Sirocco was launched as a flagship smartphone at Rs. 49,999.
