Garmin launches flagship smartwatches, price starts at Rs. 29,990
As the latest addition to its portfolio of wearables, technology giant Garmin has launched the Forerunner 245 and Forerunner 245 Music smartwatches in India. These flagship models feature a conventional timepiece design and offer advanced running dynamics, all-day activity tracking, smart notifications, and music support. In India, the Forerunner 245 series starts at Rs. 29,990. Here's all about them.
Both smartwatches offer advanced performance analytics
Both Forerunner 245 and Forerunner 245 Music smartwatches come with dedicated tools for athletes including a personalized Garmin Coach. The watches can also measure crucial running metrics such as stride length, ground contact time, balance, and vertical ratio that help improve running form. Further, they can monitor VO2 Max values, aerobic/anaerobic training effects, and offer activity profiles for cycling, swimming, as well as rowing.
The watches also offer energy and advanced sleep monitoring features
Both smartwatches come equipped with a wrist-based Pulse Ox sensor that estimates how your body is absorbing oxygen to track light, deep and REM stages of sleep. Also, there is an energy monitoring feature which collects vital data and analyzes it to gauge one's energy reserves at any moment to help plan their day better.

Both the Forerunner 245 and Forerunner 245 Music feature a 1.2-inch sunlight-visible color display with 240x240 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Weighing at around 38 grams, these GPS-based smartwatches are waterproof till upto 50 meters and offer upto 7-days of battery life. The Music model also comes with storage for upto 500 songs and support for streaming via Spotify and Deezer.
Pricing and availability
The Garmin Forerunner 245 costs Rs. 29,990 while the Forerunner 245 Music is priced at Rs. 34,990. The standard model comes in Yellow and Slate colors while the Music edition is offered in Aqua, Black, and Lava Red options. Both the smartwatches are now available in India via Amazon, Myntra, Paytm Mall and some offline stores including Go Sport, PlayWell and Helios Watch Stores.
