Samsung Galaxy Note 9 teaser video confirms phone's key details
Samsung has "accidentally" leaked the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 via an official intro video which was posted on YouTube but soon pulled down. The 30-second video gave us the clear look of the upcoming Samsung phablet, while also confirming some earlier rumors and reports related to the Note 9's specs and features. Here's everything to know about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
All about the Galaxy Note 9 design
The video shows the blue variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 along with a yellow-colored S Pen. On the back, which appears to be a glass panel, the phone will house a horizontally-positioned dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor. Up front, the Note 9 is seen to feature a dual-curved display with the top bezel housing the front camera, sensor, and earpiece.
Galaxy Note 9 will retain the headphone jack
The video also reveals the bottom edge of the Note 9 wherein one can see the slot for the S Pen, a speaker grill, a microphone, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a couple of antennae bands.
Note 9 will offer up to 1TB of internal storage
For quite some time, Samsung has been teasing a faster processor, bigger battery and more storage space in the upcoming Note device. And now, in the video, Samsung claims the Note 9 to be "1 terabyte ready with expandable storage" and shows a 512GB microSD. This means, the phone will have up to 512GB of internal storage and will support a 512GB microSD card.
Looks like the S Pen will get some additional functionality
The video shows that the S Pen will come with a clickable button. And while this doesn't confirm a lot about its function, we know Samsung has an "all new powerful S Pen." Reports suggest the S Pen will support Bluetooth. This means it can be paired to the phone to take photos/screenshots, control music, and assign quick single-click/double-click or long-press customizable functions.
What else should you except from Note 9?
Note 9 will likely be powered by the Exynos 9810 (globally) and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (US) processor, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and up to 512GB inbuilt storage. The phone is expected to sport a 12MP+12MP dual rear-camera setup with variable aperture and an 8MP front camera. Moreover, Note 9 will reportedly pack a 4,000mAh battery - a significant upgrade over Note 8's 3,300mAh.
Pricing details of Note 9 variants
As per reports, the Note 9 will come in at least two variants - with 128GB storage and another with 512GB storage. As for pricing, in Malaysia, the 128GB and 512GB variants will reportedly retail for MYR 4,299 (Rs. 72,300) and MYR 5,099 (Rs. 85,800), respectively. In Korea, the Note 9 variants are tipped to cost the same as the Note 8 models.
