Samsung Galaxy Note 10 tipped to feature Time-of-Flight 3D sensor
Samsung's Galaxy Note 10 is just a few weeks away from going official and naturally, more and more leaks are coming our way. The latest bit of information comes from South Korea-based ET News which suggests the Galaxy Note 10 will come with a Time-of-Flight 3D sensor to offer an enhanced imaging output. Here's all about it.
Samsung's supplier ramping up production to meet demand
According to ET News, Samsung's supplier KOLEN is ramping up its manufacturing capabilities to meet Samsung's demand for ToF lenses on its upcoming smartphones including the Galaxy Note 10. "We are planning to produce lenses through our new plant in Vietnam according to Samsung Electronics' plan to expand the application of ToF lenses for its smartphones," a KOLEN representative told the Korean publication.
ToF sensor will be exclusive to the Plus model
Now, going by the leaks, Galaxy Note 10 will come in two variants - Standard and Plus. The Plus variant will offer a quad-lens rear camera setup that is expected to comprise an ultrawide-angle lens, wide lens, telephoto lens, and a 3D Time-of-Flight depth sensor. On the other hand, the standard model is tipped to sport a similar setup but without the 3D sensor.
Note 10 will feature a new Infinity-O design
Interestingly, according to renders, the Galaxy Note 10 will sport a new center-aligned punch-hole display with curved edges and a metal-glass body. The renders also confirm that the phablet-sized smartphones won't feature a headphone jack. Further, the Note 10 Plus is said to sport a 6.75-inch Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED display whereas the standard model will get a smaller 6.3-inch screen.
Under the hood
The Galaxy Note 10 series, like several other flagship models of 2019, is sure to come with the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 processor, paired with upto 12GB of RAM and upto 1TB of embedded storage (possibly, UFS 3.0 format). Under the hood, the Plus model is tipped to pack a 4,500mAh battery while the standard Note 10 is said to house a 3,400mAh battery.
