You can now control your kids' playtime on Fortnite
Fortnite, the super popular online game from Epic Games, has rolled out some new parental controls. Now, parents can set daily time limits on how long their kids can play. They can also choose the specific times when their kids are allowed to jump into the game, and even decide if they can ask for extra playtime. When these limits are on, players will get an in-game notification when they have just 30 minutes of playtime left.
Time tracking and reporting features
Fortnite's new controls come with a cool time-tracking feature that keeps tabs on gameplay across different modes. This includes Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, and user-created experiences made with the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Plus, parents can check out a 'Time Reports' dashboard to see how long their kid has been playing the game.
Enhancements to existing parental controls
These new features are just an upgrade on the parental controls Epic Games already had in place. Earlier, parents could limit their kids from diving into certain experiences based on their ratings. Now, with the added time limit and monitoring tools, parents can keep a closer eye on their child's gaming habits, making sure they strike a good balance between gaming and other activities.
