For Android users: How to use YouTube's 'Scheduled Digest'
What's the story
Managing a flood of mobile notifications, especially for avid YouTube fans, can be overwhelming.
The Scheduled Digest feature on Android bundles all daily notifications into one.
This tutorial outlines how to activate and tailor it to your preferences, providing a streamlined way to keep tabs on your favorite channels without the hassle of a cluttered notification panel.
Setup process
Enable and customize your notification settings
First, launch the YouTube app on your Android device and make sure you're signed into your account.
Tap on your profile picture at the top right corner of the screen to open your account page.
Then, scroll down until you see "Settings" and tap on it.
In the Settings menu, scroll down to find and tap "Notifications."
Finally, under the "Scheduled Digest" option, tap on the switch to enable it.
Timing adjustment
Schedule your daily digest
Now that "Scheduled Digest" is turned on, you can specify the time you want to receive this summary notification.
Simply tap again on "Scheduled Digest," and a time setting scroller will appear.
Select your desired time for daily digests by scrolling through the options, then hit "OK."
This customizes when you'll receive your daily notification, ensuring it aligns perfectly with your routine and doesn't become a disturbance.
Notification review
Understanding your consolidated notifications
Once you have set it up, at your chosen time, you will receive one comprehensive notification summarizing all activities from the channels you follow.
Tapping this notification takes you directly to the Activity tab within YouTube.
Here, all notifications from that day are neatly organized under two sections: "All" and "Mentions."
This way, it's easy to catch up on general updates and focus on interactions that specifically involve you.
