For Android users: 'Create a Room' on WhatsApp in seconds
What's the story
WhatsApp's 'Create a Room' feature lets you set up virtual spaces for video calls, so you can easily chat with a whole group of friends or family at once.
This step-by-step guide will show you how to use the 'Create a Room' feature on your Android phone, from opening WhatsApp to inviting your friends to join you with a room link.
Open and navigate
Starting your virtual room
First, open WhatsApp on your Android device and navigate to the Calls tab at the bottom of the screen.
If you don't see the 'Create a Room' option immediately, refresh the screen by pulling down or close and reopen WhatsApp.
This step guarantees you have the feature to create your virtual meeting space efficiently.
Initiate and customize
Setting up your room
After you click on 'Create a Room' in WhatsApp, it will take you to the Messenger to proceed.
And, once you tap 'Continue in Messenger' and then 'Try It,' you can name your room and select who can join your room.
While the default setting permits anyone with the link to enter your room, you have the option to restrict access, providing greater privacy and control over your virtual space.
Share and invite
Sharing your virtual space
After your room is created, tap 'Send Link on WhatsApp' to select the contacts or groups you want to share it with.
Personalize your invitation message, then send it.
Your friends can join by clicking on the link you've shared.
Since you can invite as many as 50 people, it provides a hassle-free way to conduct large video calls.
