Foldable Tablets: News
Foldable tablets are a cross between foldable smartphones and laptops, arguably offering the best of both worlds. Foldable tablets are more pocketable than bulky laptops, just like phones. At the same time, when unfolded, they offer a user experience akin to a laptop. Late in 2020, Lenovo unveiled the ThinkPad X1 Fold that claimed to be the world's first foldable tablet/computer. Foldable tablets derive their technology from both smartphones as well as laptops. The folding display concept has been polished over the years since its inception and plays a crucial role in enabling folding screen tablets. The internals of these devices is usually smartphone-derived as well, as long as you look at the more affordable variants. For instance, the aforementioned pricier ThinkPad sports a notebook-grade Intel Core i5 processor since it is aimed at those looking to replace laptops with a complete touchscreen experience. As of 2021, Samsung, Google, Lenovo, and TCL are rumored to be at various stages of developing their own foldable tablets.
