Flipkart's Nokia-branded TVs to launch in India on December 5
Last week we reported that Flipkart is working to launch the first-ever Nokia-branded television in India sometime in early December, and now, we have the official launch date. According to invites shared with the media for a launch event, the e-commerce giant will unveil the Nokia TV on December 5. Meanwhile, some features and specifications of the upcoming television have also been tipped.
Flipkart will manufacture the Nokia TV in India
Earlier this month, Flipkart confirmed that it has partnered with Nokia to launch the Finnish tech giant's smart TV in India. As part of the deal, the Walmart-owned company will not only distribute Nokia-branded smart TVs but also manufacture them in the country. This is Flipkart's second such partnership after introducing Motorola's Android televisions a couple of months back.
One of the models will feature a 55-inch 4K screen
According to previous reports, the Nokia TV range will feature a 55-inch 4K model. However, at present, we don't know how many models would be launched or if we would see more affordable variants with smaller screen sizes and lower resolutions. Design-wise, the TV will feature a flat-edged metallic frame with slim bezels and a matte-finished plastic back panel.
The TVs will also come with JBL acoustics, Dolby Audio
The Nokia TV will pack JBL acoustics and offer features such as Clear Vocal Tones and Minimal Harmonic Distortion for enhanced clarity. Additionally, the television will also get Dolby Audio and DTS TruSurround Sound for a premium sound output.
What else do we expect from Nokia TVs?
The details about the Nokia TVs are pretty limited as of now. However, we expect these televisions to ship with the latest Android TV 9. The operating system will allow users to download apps and games from Play Store, stream movies, TV shows, and music through Chromecast. They can also search their favorite content using voice via Google Assistant.
