World's first fidget spinner phone, here's a Diwali gift idea
A part of me is really curious about trying out a fidget spinner phone, no matter how ridiculous it sounds. Yes, you read it right. Hong Kong-based Chilli International Holding (HK) Limited has launched the world's first fidget spinner mobile phone and yes it's available in India. So, what do we get in this phone, other than the spinning bit? Here's what.
So, what do you get?
Since it's a feature phone, one shouldn't expect much. It comes with 32MB RAM and 32MB internal memory, expandable up to 8 GB via microSD card. The phone has a 1.44-inch display, which comes with QVGA (128 x 128 pixels) resolution. K188 also sports alphanumeric keypad along with D-pad to help you scroll through the menu.
Covering the basics
The phone comes with dual Micro SIM card slots. However, there is a hiccup. The phone only supports 2G network. Although it can be used as a standalone mobile device, one would perhaps find better use of it if K188 is used as a Bluetooth dialer. It also has a messaging app onboard. Therefore, two primary functions of a phone are covered.
What you see is what you get
You don't get a music player and the 3.5mm audio jack is also missing. However, it does have a polycarbonate shell and is immensely lightweight; therefore, spins quite nicely. The phone comes in six color options - Rose Gold, Gold, Silver, Black, Blue and Red. Most people will probably opt for it as a novelty item.
Hey, it's a cool gift at least
It comes with a one-year warranty card and micro USB cable. On the e-commerce sites, the price of K188 is hovering around the Rs. 1,000- 1,100 range. Sans the fidget spinning novelty, the specs are not that impressive. However, it's the festive season and it'd be an out of the norm gift for a geeky friend, if not more.
