Everything we know about Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL
We know Google's upcoming 2018 flagships will be called the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL - a naming confirmed by an Android source code. And while there haven't been many leaks, we know plenty about the upcoming Pixel smartphones, at least in terms of design. Reportedly, the official unveiling will happen on October 4. Here's our roundup.
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL
According to leaks, Pixel 3 XL display will sport a notch - a much deeper one than currently in trend - to pack dual front camera sensors and probably a speaker/earpiece module. On the contrary, the smaller Pixel 3 will have a conventional display with slim top bezel. Further, both the phones will have a chin at the bottom to house a front-facing speaker.
Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL won't get dual-rear cameras
Google is not opting for a dual-camera set and both models will include upgraded, single-lens cameras on the back. While rear dual-cameras allow for sharper zoom and help create Bokeh effect, Google will use a single lens and optimized software (as on current Pixel phones).
You won't see a headphone jack either
Further, unboxing of an alleged Pixel 3 XL suggests the 2018 Pixel phones won't sport a 3.5mm headphone jack - much like last year's Pixel 2. The phones are said to come with wired USB Type-C headphones which look a lot like Pixel Buds and may even offer similar functionality such as live translations.
What else do we know about the Pixel 3 phones
According to reports, the Pixel 3 XL is likely to sport a 6.7-inch display. Further, both the phones are expected to come with glass backs to allow for wireless charging. As for other specifications, they will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, possibly paired with up to 6/8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Moreover, reports suggest Pixel 3 XL will pack a 3,430mAh battery.
