Musk slams Vinod Khosla for 'no plebs' sign on beach
Tech mogul Elon Musk has publicly criticized venture capitalist Vinod Khosla, for allegedly restricting public access to a beach near his residence by puttin up a "no plebs allowed" sign. The dispute surfaced after Khosla had previously dismissed Musk's climate change discussion with former US President Donald Trump as "dumb." "Wow, so crazy that @vkhosla put this sign on a public beach," Musk wrote in a post, sharing an image of the controversial sign.
Musk plans party on disputed beach
In a subsequent comment, Musk highlighted Khosla's alleged hypocrisy. He claimed that while Khosla is willing to send thousands of unverified immigrants across US, he refuses to allow the public on his beach. In a defiant move, Musk announced his intention to host a party on the disputed beach, stating "I'm throwing a party on Vinod's beach! For cuisine, I'm thinking BBQ."
Khosla's beach property and public access controversy
Khosla purchased a beachfront property for a whopping $32.5 million in 2008. To prevent public access to the beach via his property, he installed a gate on the road leading down to the cove. Despite legal challenges and opposition from conservation groups like Surfrider Foundation, Khosla maintains that his actions are lawful due to his ownership of the land.
Khosla responds to Musk's allegations
In response to Musk's allegations, Khosla defended his actions. He argued that the dispute was not about public access to the beach, but rather about crossing private property to reach it. "Every court ruling and appeal of the Friends of Martin's Beach lawsuit we have won that reasserted access through private property is not legal," Khosla wrote in a post on X.
