Diablo IV glitch lets players jump 30 levels in seconds
Blizzard's immensely popular role-playing game, Diablo IV, has encountered an unexpected glitch following the launch of its fifth season Diablo IV: Season of the Infernal Hordes. A bug has led to some players experiencing significant jumps in their levels. One player reported an impressive leap from level 29 to level 63 in just one second after defeating a stronghold boss. This rapid leveling up was first brought to light in a video shared on Reddit.
Cause of glitch: Player interaction with a new dagger
The issue is linked to a new weapon introduced in the game, a unique dagger called 'Umbracrux.' This weapon is exclusively designed for rogue players and has been causing them to level up at an unprecedented rate. Some players have reported gaining millions of game experience points (XP) within seconds along with level-ups after defeating certain bosses using this new weapon.
Blizzard has acknowledged the issue
Blizzard has acknowledged the glitch and implemented a temporary solution. Adam Fletcher, Diablo global community development director, addressed the issue on Blizzard's official forums. He stated, "The team was made aware of an issue where players were able to obtain a significant amount of experience while killing certain bosses with 'The Umbracrux' unique equipped."
Umbracrux's unique power temporarily disabled
The unique power of 'Umbracrux,' which allows players to spawn shade totems, is suspected to be the cause of these sudden XP surges. Currently, this weapon can still be found via loot drops and equipped by players. However, Fletcher has clarified that the unique power of Umbracrux would be disabled while they work on a permanent fix. He assured players that once a finalized fix is ready, they will re-enable the weapon's power and communicate this to the player community.
