D2h Stream Android set-top box, Alexa-enabled Magic Stick launched
Rivaling Airtel and Tata Sky, Dish TV-owned D2h has launched its own Android-based D2h Stream set-top box in India. The STB aims to bring satellite TV and OTT content to your TV along with all the Android TV OS goodies. The company has also launched a D2h Magic Stick that brings Alexa support and access to popular OTT applications to existing set-top boxes.
About the D2h Stream set-top box
The D2h Stream set-top box allows you to stream Live TV channels as well as OTT content directly to your television. It also supports Dolby Audio for enhanced sound output. The STB is powered by Android TV 9 OS, which means you can download all the apps and games available on the Google Play Store. The device also gets support for Google Assistant.
You also get Google Chromecast support
With Android OS support, the D2h hybrid streaming box also gets support for Google Chromecast, which helps you cast content from your smartphone or any other compatible device straight to the TV.
D2h Magic Stick
The D2h Magic Stick connects to your regular set-top box to bring support for Alexa and several popular OTT apps. With built-in Alexa support, you can use voice commands to control your set-top box and stream your movies, music, and sports. It can also be used for reading news, setting reminders, checking weather updates, as well as booking cabs.
Pricing and availability
The D2h Stream costs Rs. 3,999 for new subscribers and Rs. 2,499 for existing subscribers. The D2h Magic Stick comes at Rs. 1,199 and is currently available for select D2h subscribers only.
