Mid-segment phone Comio C2 gets launched, priced at Rs. 7,199
A relatively new competitor in the Indian smartphone market, Comio has launched a new smartphone in the country. The latest offering from the company, dubbed C2 is a budget-smartphone and carries a price tag of Rs. 7,199. The phone has been made available for purchase via Comio's offline retail stores as well as online retail platforms, such as Flipkart, Amazon and Paytm. Here's more.
Unique features of the phone
One of the unique features of this budget-smartphone by Comio is its "Intruder Selfie" anti-theft software, which protects the phone from being stolen. In this feature, "when someone tries to unlock the device by trying to break the pattern or PIN, the device will automatically take the image of the unauthorized person," states the company.
What's under the hood?
In terms of other specifications, Comio C2 integrates a MediaTek MTK6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali T720 GPU. It boasts of a 2GB RAM and is powered by a 4000mAh battery. As per the company, it features stock Android. The device runs on Comio UI on top of Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The camera aspect of it
The dual SIM Comio C2 features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display, 8MP rear camera along with autofocus and LED flash and another 8MP camera at the front side of the device for selfies. This handset also supports VoLTE connectivity. It also integrates Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and GPS features.
Partnering up with Jio
Comio has tied up with Reliance Jio to offer additional data benefits to the buyers. It offers 5GB of free Internet data for four months to every buyer of C2, who has a Jio SIM card. Add to that, if the user recharges with Rs. 309, he/she will receive another 5GB of Internet data vouchers, informed the company.
The Indian audience in mind
Comio aims to become a leading brand in the Indian budget-smartphone segment and the latest handset has been designed especially keeping the Indian consumers' needs in mind, said CEO and Director of the company, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona. "With the launch of Comio C2, we are moving towards our vision of becoming leaders in the Rs. 6-10K (mid-segment)," said Kalirona, while speaking about the phone.
