Watch: China sets Guinness records with largest drone shows ever
A few weeks after Shenzhen set a world record for the largest drone show, the Chinese city broke its own record once again. In early September, a display featured 7,598 drones, illuminating the night sky with stunning images and animations, surpassing the previous record by several thousand. Now, just a few days ago, another show over Shenzhen Bay Park was held, featuring as many as 10,197 drones, setting two Guinness World Records in the process.
Single laptop controlled the show
The latest drone show was a prelude to the upcoming National Day celebrations on October 1. The two world records are for the most drones flying together from one computer outdoors and the largest aerial image formed by drones. These tech wonders were pulled off using some super-advanced software that directed the drones from the ground. The show dazzled the crowd with a bunch of stunning images and animations, lighting up the night sky.

A greener alternative to fireworks
Drone shows are on the rise, and it's not just because they're so cool to watch. They're also a greener option compared to traditional fireworks displays. This is becuase the drones don't release any smoke or harmful pollutants when they soar through the sky. Plus, they're way quieter than fireworks, making the show more fun for the audience and less disruptive for nearby communities and wildlife.
Drone shows are becoming more popular
More and more tech companies are starting to offer their services for drone shows, thanks to advancements in drone technology and the software that controls them. But it's not all smooth sailing. There's always a risk of drones malfunctioning and falling from the sky during these shows. However, if the display is held over water or away from crowds, such mishaps are less likely to cause any harm.
