Caviar unveils 24K gold-covered Huawei Mate XT Ultimate for $12,800
Caviar, the luxury device maker, has just dropped its latest masterpiece - the customized Huawei Mate XT Ultimate. This tri-folding smartphone first made waves in China earlier this month, available in black and red. The base model goes for CNY19,999 (nearly ₹2.4 lakh). But if you're after something special, Caviar's bespoke versions come from its Rich Colors collection and feature two distinct designs: the Black Dragon and Gold Dragon.
Caviar's Black Dragon model: A blend of mythology and luxury
The Black Dragon model gives a shout-out to the Xuanlong Dragon from Chinese mythology. It's all wrapped up in black crocodile leather, which looks just like the scales of this legendary beast. And for that extra bit of luxe, the design is highlighted with gold-plated details. Meanwhile, the Gold Dragon model takes luxury to a whole new level, being completely covered in 24K gold.
Gold Dragon model is a tribute to Chinese artistry
The Gold Dragon model isn't just about the flashiness. Its surface showcases a texture that resembles imperial swords crafted in Longquan, a place famous for its multi-layer sword forging technique. Caviar has decided to create only 88 units of each version since the number 88 is considered lucky in Chinese culture. Both models come with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, with prices varying from $12,770 to $15,360 depending on the model and storage capacity you choose.
