BMW M2 to be launched in India, at Rs. 85lakh
BMW India will soon be introducing its smallest 'M Car', the M2, in India at a starting price mark of around Rs. 85 lakh (ex-showroom). The two-seater BMW M2 sports coupe, that will only be available with the 'Competition package' in India, will take on the likes of the Porsche 718 Cayman and upcoming Audi TT RS in the country. Under the hood
The car will sport a twin-charged 3.0-liter engine that can generate 405bhp peak power and 550Nm of torque. This engine, also seen on the BMW M3, M4, will come mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox in India. This sports coupe, featuring a rear-wheel drive setup, can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph (electronically limited).
The BMW M2 Competition offers several customizable features
The M2 will get standard five-spoke M-Sport wheels or an optional 19-inch competition wheel. Buyers will also get the option of M-Sport leather seats, Apple CarPlay, Harman Kardon audio system, BMW Apps and built-in navigation. BMW will offer M2 in five colors along with one standard interior trim option in black, along with a full-sized spare wheel which is an India only standard fitment.
What else will the BMW M2 Competition offer
As extras, BMW will also offer 'M Performance Parts' on the M2 Competition. These performance parts include the carbon fiber roof, larger carbon fiber rear spoiler and carbon fiber bits on the rear diffuser, side skirts, exhaust tip and boot-lid. The automaker will also offer the optional 19-inch forged wheels, along with the M Brake package on the BMW M2 Competition.
