BlackBerry Motion: all you need to know about it
Just a few days after the leak by Evan Blass about BlackBerry's latest offing, the firm has gone ahead and launched it. As Blass informed, the new phone which was codenamed "Krypton" earlier, is indeed called BlackBerry Motion and, as expected, the iconic physical QWERTY keyboard is not present in this handset. The QWERTY keyboard is not there
BlackBerry doesn't make its own phones. They are manufactured by TCL, a Chinese phone maker that is known for its Alcatel-brand. The phone mimics the look of its predecessor BlackBerry KEYone sans the physical QWERTY keyboard. BlackBerry Motion has a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display that comes with DragonTrail Glass protection. It's a dual SIM device.
Pretty decent specifications
Under the hood, it integrates a Snapdragon 625 SoC processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and BlackBerry Motion has 32GB onboard storage. One of the salient features of this phone is that you can increase inbuilt storage up to a whopping 2TB with the help of a microSD card. The smartphone is water-resistant and carries a fingerprint scanner.
What about the camera?
When it comes to the optics of the phone, BlackBerry Motion features a 12MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture. It also comes with dual-tone LED flash and is able to record 4K videos at 30fps. In the front, there's an 8MP camera along with a Selfie flash. The handset comes with an impressive 4000mAh non-removable battery that has Quick Charge 3.0 support.
BlackBerry devices are known for security
Motion, like other BlackBerry devices, has several security suites onboard. It has a DTEK security suite and offers support for FIPS 140-2 Full Disk Encryption, Android For Work, and Google Play for Work. No wonder old BlackBerry phones used to be a staple for bankers. There's also a "Smart Convenience Key" which brings apps and functions on the screen that users use "most often".
