Black Shark 3, Shark 3 Pro gaming smartphones go official
Xiaomi's gaming-focused sub-brand Black Shark has launched its flagship 3 series of smartphones in China. The line-up comprises standard Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro models. Both the high-end smartphones offer 90Hz display, 64MP triple rear camera, and top-of-the-line Snapdragon 865 chipset but differ from each other in terms of display size, memory options, and battery. A look at both the smartphones
Both Black Shark 3 Pro and Black Shark 3 offer AMOLED screens with a 90Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensors. However, the former features a gigantic 7.1-inch QHD+ (1440x3120 pixels) screen, while the latter gets a smaller 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1080x2400) display. Plus, the Pro model also sports touch-sensitive shoulder pads for improved gaming experience.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
On the imaging front, both the Black Shark 3 models offer a triple-lens rear camera setup comprising a mighty 64MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, a 13MP (f/2.25) ultra-wide angle sensor, and another 5MP (f/2.2) lens to capture depth details. For selfies, video calling, and face unlock, both handsets house a 20MP (f/2.0) front-facing snapper.
All the important stuff
Both Black Shark 3 Pro and Black Shark 3 are backed by a flagship Snapdragon 865 octa-core processor. As for memory options, these phones offer up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM (the 8GB/128GB variant of the standard model gets LPDDR4X RAM) and up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Besides that, both handsets come equipped with liquid-cooling technology for improved thermal management.
Battery and connectivity
The Black Shark 3 Pro is backed by a solid 5,000mAh battery, while the standard Black Shark 3 packs a smaller 4,720mAh battery. Both the smartphones offer 65W fast-charging support, except for the 8GB RAM variant of Black Shark 3 which gets 30W fast-charging. Further, these handsets come with support for latest connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, Type-C port, and a headphone jack.
And, what is the pricing?
As for the pocket-pinch, the Black Shark 3 Pro starts at CNY 4,699 (approximately Rs. 50,000) for the 8GB/256GB variant, while the entry-level 8GB/128GB model of the Black Shark 3 is available at CNY 3,499 (approximately Rs. 37,000). Meanwhile, there is no word on the availability of these smartphones in India as of now.
