Taking on the popular Realme-3-pro'>Realme 3 Pro and Redmi Note 7 Pro, Huawei-backed Honor has launched a new budget range smartphone in India. Titled as Honor 20i, the phone offers a full-HD+ screen, triple rear cameras, a 32MP selfie snapper, and mid-level internals. But is it better than the competitors? Here's our specs-wise comparison of these three budget smartphones.
At a glance
As modern day phones, all three models sport notched displays, multiple cameras, gradient designs, and glass-like rear panels. However, Redmi Note 7 Pro has a more premium feel, thanks to its Gorilla Glass 5 body. Meanwhile, the Realme 3 Pro is a better-looking model because of its less obtrusive waterdrop notched screen and ultra-slim bezels. Winner: Realme 3 Pro for its overall better design.
All about the screen
All three phones sport a full-HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels, a taller aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Diagonally, the screens on Realme 3 Pro and Redmi Note 7 Pro measure at 6.3-inches, with the Honor 20i being marginally smaller at 6.21-inches. Winner: Realme 3 Pro for its higher screen-to-body ratio of around 91%.
For the shutterbugs
The dual-lens rear camera on Realme 3 Pro comprises a 16MP main sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. The Redmi Note 7 Pro also gets a similar setup but with a 48MP primary lens and a 5MP telephoto lens. In comparison, Honor 20i gets a better triple camera unit with a 24MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. Winner: Honor 20i.
For the selfie lovers
For selfies, the Redmi Note 7 Pro offers a 13MP camera whereas the Realme 3 Pro gets a 25MP (f/2.0) front camera. On the other hand, the Honor challenger sports a massive 32MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper. Winner: Honor 20i for its better sensor.
Under the hood
Xiaomi's popular mid-ranger, the Redmi Note 7 Pro, is backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset while the Honor 20i uses its in-house Kirin 710 chipset. However, the Realme 3 Pro takes the crown here with its more capable and efficient Snapdragon 710 processor. Notably, all the models offer upto 6GB of RAM (4GB on Honor 20i) and upto 128GB of built-in storage.
Battery and bio-metrics
The Honor 20i comes with a 3,400mAh battery at 10W fast-charging, while the Redmi Note 7 Pro packs a 4,000mAh pack with 18W charging support. However, the Realme 3 Pro leads the pack with a marginally bigger 4,045mAh battery and faster 20W VOOC charging. Lastly, all the three phones come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and support face unlock feature also.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro costs Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB/64GB model and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant. Likewise, the Realme 3 Pro comes at Rs. 13,999 for the base-end 4GB/64GB model and Rs. 16,999 for the top-end 6GB/128GB variant. The Honor 20i is priced at Rs. 14,999 for the solo 4GB/128GB model.
So, which one should you buy?
The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes as a combination of premium design, good cameras, and dependable performance. On the other hand, the Honor 20i takes the camera game to the next level with more capable sensors. But overall, the Realme 3 Pro is a better and more complete option with decent cameras, superior processor, cleaner OS, and a design that is second to none.
