    What's the story

Apple-owned Beats, a brand renowned for its high-quality audio products, has launched its latest earbuds - the Solo Buds.

Retailing at a budget-friendly $80, these earbuds boast an unprecedented 18-hour battery life on a single charge.

This is the longest battery life ever offered by Beats in their earbud range.

The company's reputation for superior audio performance and comfort across Android and iOS platforms is expected to be upheld with this cost-effective addition to their lineup.

    Charging system

Solo Buds's unique charging mechanism and fast fuel feature

The Solo Buds come with a unique charging system, where the case does not have an inbuilt battery.

This means that the earbuds will not recharge when stored away. Instead, the case acts as a docking station that powers up the buds only when connected to a USB-C cable.

However, users can conveniently charge it using their phone, laptop or tablet. Additionally, Beats's Fast Fuel feature ensures an hour of use from just five minutes of charging.

    Design features

Solo Buds are designed for extended use

The Solo Buds are designed for extended use, featuring ergonomic acoustic nozzles and vents to enhance audio performance while reducing pressure.

To ensure comfort and passive noise isolation, four sizes of ear tips are included.

However, they do not have active noise cancellation (ANC), making a secure fit essential to minimize external noise.

The earbuds house dual-layer transducers designed to reduce distortion across the frequency curve for "uncompromising clarity and detail," as stated by Beats.

    User experience

    Solo buds offer customizable controls

Beats guarantees "exceptional" call quality with the Solo Buds, thanks to a custom-designed mic and a noise-learning algorithm.

Users can customize onboard controls for music, call, and voice assistant functions with an optional press-and-hold action for volume control.

The earbuds are compatible with both Android and iOS devices for one-touch pairing, automatic setup, and support for Find My and Find My Device features.

Android users can customize onboard controls via a standalone app provided by Beats.

    Release details

Solo buds: Availability and color options

The Solo Buds will be available for purchase starting June.

Beats is offering these earbuds in a variety of color options including black, gray, purple, and transparent red.

This range of colors provides users with the opportunity to choose a style that best suits their personal preference.

Despite the unique charging mechanism and lack of active noise cancellation, the affordable price point and extended battery life make these earbuds an attractive option for consumers.
