What's the story
Huawei-owned Honor 8X and Xiaomi's Redmi Note 6 Pro are currently the best-selling smartphones in the mid-range segment.
Honor claims to have sold over 6 million units of 8X globally (since its launch in September) whereas over 6 lakh units of Redmi Note 6 Pro were sold in India in the first sale itself.
But which one is better? Here's our comparison.
Design
At a glance
Up front, both the phones sport an edge-to-edge notched display. However, with a slightly smaller display cut-out and a slimmer bottom bezel, Honor 8X boasts a 91% screen-to-body ratio as against Redmi's 86%.
On the back, the Honor 8X gets a glass panel with a textured design whereas Redmi Note 6 Pro sports a metallic body - much like its predecessor.

The new mid-range smartphone king
While Redmi Note 6 Pro offers a slightly bigger battery, improved cameras, the phone is internally the same as its predecessor.
In comparison, the all-rounder Honor 8X impresses with its trendier design, larger display, superior processor and decent cameras.
Hence, if you're into casual photography, heavy mobile gaming and video streaming, Honor 8X for an extra Rs. 1,000, is a no-brainer.
