Banana Phone is banana-shaped Bluetooth headset for weird gadget lovers
There's a bunch of weird gadgets out there and the Banana Phone has to be somewhere on the top. However, unlike its name, Banana Phone is actually a banana-shaped Bluetooth headset that can pair with your smartphone and can be used for taking calls. And soon, the company is set to launch a refreshed model with some nifty upgrades.
First, here's understanding the Banana Phone
Launched in 2017, the Banana Phone is a "silly smartphone accessory" (according to the company) that can connect to an iOS or Android smartphone via Bluetooth for taking calls. It also uses Siri or Google Assistant to make outgoing calls. Further, it packs some buttons for volume control and a rechargeable battery that offers 10 hours of talk time.
The new model is getting bigger speakers and battery
Now, the company is gearing up to launch a new version of the Banana Phone and it'll come with some nifty upgrades. According to Brian Brunsing, president of Banana Phone LLC (via The Verge), the new model will pack a bigger speaker and it'll be able to play music. The new variant will also offer an improved battery life of 20 hours.
Banana Phone: Pricing and availability
According to Brunsing, the new Banana Phone model will launch sometime around Black Friday which falls on November 29 this year. As for pricing, you'll have to shell out $39.99 (around Rs. 2,800) to own the upcoming model.

As highlighted by the company on its website, "Banana Phone is a certified and active 1% For The Planet Member. We donate 1% of all revenue to support Gorilla Conservation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo." The company also claims its product is sustainable, thanks to the use of conflict-free minerals in Qualcomm microcontrollers, 100% recycled ABS plastics, fully recyclable 100% cardboard packaging.
