Delhi Auto Expo 2018: All you need to know

What's the story

The 14th edition of the Auto Expo has kick-started in Greater Noida. The event, which will be made open to the public from February 9, will see over a dozen vehicle launches and around a 100 car unveiling, including nearly 50 hybrid vehicles. The Auto Expo 2018 will especially focus on electric vehicles, an automobile technology increasingly being adopted all over the world.

Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki unveils its Concept Future S car

At the pre-opening event, automobile giant Maruti Suzuki globally premiered its Concept Future S car. The new concept car features a compact design. Suzuki unveiled a new flagship scooter called the 125cc Burgman Street and launched a fuel-injection variant of its Intruder cruiser motorcycle. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to launch its new-generation Swift at the Auto Expo.

Hyundai

Hyundai launches its 2018 Elite i20 car

Further, Hyundai has launched its 2018 Elite i20 car. The car will come with a three-year/1,00,000 km warranty, a three-year roadside assistance facility, a revised bumper design at the front, and new alloy wheels. Hyundai said that it will launch nine new products by the year 2020, including two facelifts, two new segments, four model changes and one electric vehicle.

Honda

Honda unveils new models of CR-V, Amaze and Civic

Next, Honda unveiled three new car models of the CR-V, the Amaze and the Civic, respectively. These new models, to be eventually launched in FY 18-19, will comprise of Honda's 2nd-generation Amaze, 5th-generation CR-V, and 10th-generation Civic. The company also said that it will launch six new car models in India in the next three years.

Renault

Renault unveils concept car, Piaggio launches iAprilia SR 125 two-wheeler

Renault unveiled its Trezor Concept car at the Auto Expo, which is a two-seater electric coupé. Pushing for electric cars in India, the company is awaiting a clear policy from the government regarding the same. Further, Piaggio launched its Aprilia SR 125 motorcycle for Rs. 65,310 and unveiled the Aprilia Storm. It also incorporated smartphone connectivity features to the Vespa and Aprilia two-wheelers.

Kia Motors officially debuts in India at Auto Expo

The event, being held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, also saw Kia Motors officially debuting in the country. The company showcased its global car models while also assuring that it can't wait to launch vehicles that are tailored for the Indian market.
