The ZenFone 5Z features a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (1080x2246 pixels) notch-based display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with an Adreno 630 GPU, 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB/256GB of inbuilt storage. It supports dual-SIM(Nano) cards, runs ZenUI5.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo and packs a 3,300mAh battery which supports AI-based charging technology.

On the rear, the ZenFone 5Z sports a dual camera setup comprising a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a soft light LED flash. On the front, the smartphone offers an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree Field of View, and supports Face Unlock.
