ASUS launches the ROG Phone 5 series of gaming smartphones
Expanding its portfolio of high-tech gaming smartphones, tech giant ASUS has launched the ROG Phone 5 series in India. The line-up includes the vanilla ROG Phone 5, Phone 5 Pro, and a limited-run Phone 5 Ultimate. ROG Phone 5 offers a Full-HD+ screen
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 features a conventional screen with slim bezels and an integrated fingerprint reader. On the rear, it houses a triple camera unit and RGB lighting. The handset bears a 6.8-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9, a 144Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. It is offered in Phantom Black and Storm White color options.
There is a 64MP main camera
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 sports a triple rear camera module including a 64MP primary sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP macro camera. Up front, it has a 32MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood, the handset runs on Android 11
The ROG Phone 5 draws power from a Snapdragon 888 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. At the heart, it boots Android 11 and packs a 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support. For connectivity, the device offers support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 5G, a headphone jack, and two Type-C ports (bottom and side).
The ROG Phone 5 Pro has a PMOLED secondary display
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 Pro and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate have the same hardware and features as the standard model except for a PMOLED ROG Vision customizable secondary display on the back panel with 64x256 pixels resolution. They also offer ultrasonic buttons for an enhanced gaming experience and two additional capacitive areas on the back cover (only on Ultimate model).

In India, the ROG Phone 5 costs Rs. 49,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant and Rs. 57,999 for the 12GB/256GB model. The Pro version costs Rs. 69,999 for the sole 16GB/512GB configuration and the Ultimate model is priced at Rs. 79,999 for the sole 18GB/512GB variant.
