Chinese tech firm launches AI robot that can fold laundry
Chinese tech firm Stardust has recently launched its latest robot, the Astribot S1. It is backed by artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The company's vision is to provide billions of users with AI robotic assistants. During a video presentation, the company showcased the robot's skills such as folding laundry, tidying up, and even participating in a cup stacking competition.
A look at the mechanicals
Astribot S1 is equipped with a state-of-the-art motor transmission system, that has undergone several refinements. This system integrates control, transmission, sensing, and driving components into a complex system, enabling the robot to perform swift, adaptable, and fluid movements. The robot's agility and accuracy are comparable to industrial robots. Its unique design combines a wheeled base with a humanoid upper body, for safe interaction with humans or objects around it.
Astribot S1 is a versatile robot
Astribot S1 excels in various data gathering methods such as video recording, motion capture, and remote operation. Regular software updates allow the robot to continually improve its intelligence and adaptability across different tasks. The robot's head, hands, and torso are modular in design which facilitates easy assembly or disassembly, to meet varying needs and improve task flexibility. The name Astribot is inspired by the Latin saying "Ad astra per aspera," meaning "through hardships to the stars."
What about its availability and pricing?
Stardust is yet to announce the pricing and availability details of the Astribot S1 AI robot in its home country. Moreover, we do not know if it will make its way to India.
