Apple launches 2024 Pride Collection in India
Apple has introduced its 2024 Pride Collection in India, a range of products created to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community. The collection includes animated wallpapers for iPhones and iPads, a Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop for Apple Watch, and exclusive watch faces for the wearable. For the first time, Apple is allowing users to customize these wallpapers with a spectrum of colors.
Details and pricing of Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop
The Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop, a key item in the collection, is available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, priced at ₹9,500. It's compatible with several Apple Watch models including the SE, Series 4, and later versions. According to an official statement from Apple, "The new Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop evokes the strength and beauty of LGBTQ+ communities with a vibrant, fluorescent design inspired by multiple pride flags."
Solo loop design honors diverse communities
The Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop features a laser-etched lug engraved with "Pride 2024." The inclusion of black and brown colors pays tribute to Black, Hispanic, Latin communities as well as those affected by HIV/AIDS. Meanwhile, shades of pink, light blue, and white represent transgender and nonbinary individuals, as per Apple. Apple Watch's Pride watchface responds in real-time to wrist movements.
Interactive features and software updates
The iPad and iPhone wallpaper displays "Pride" which animates when the user unlocks their device. These features will be accessible with the upcoming watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5, and iPadOS 17.5 update. Starting May 22, customers can purchase the Solo Loop from Apple's website or at Apple stores in the US and Canada, with availability in other regions commencing from May 23.
