Waiting for Apple Watch Ultra 3? Here's when it'll launch
Apple is expected to launch its flaghip Watch Ultra 3 and a new version of the Apple Watch SE in 2025. This prediction comes from Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF Securities International, who had accurately forecasted last October that the tech giant would not release a successor to its Watch Ultra 2 model this year. The company has also not updated its current-generation Apple Watch SE model yet. At the recently concluded event, Apple only released Series 10 models.
Apple's launch timeline for new smartwatches
Kuo has suggested that both the Watch Ultra 3 and the third-generation Watch SE will arrive next year. If his predictions are accurate, these new smartwatches could debut in Q3 2025, a period when Apple typically unveils new smartphone and smartwatch models. The updated version of the Apple Watch SE is expected to arrive three years after its predecessor was introduced.
Potential impact on Apple's flagship watch shipments
Kuo had previously warned that if a new Apple Watch Ultra model was not announced in 2024, it could lead to a significant decrease in shipments of the flagship watch. He estimated a potential drop of up to 30% year-on-year and a 10% decline in total Apple Watch shipments. This suggests that the Apple Watch Series 10 may remain as the only upgraded smartwatch model from Apple for the next several months.
