Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular pre-orders open on Airtel, Jio
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) variant is now up for pre-orders on the Airtel and Jio websites as well as Reliance Digital and Jio stores. Apple has partnered with Airtel and Reliance Jio to sell its latest smartwatch in India and it will go on sale starting May 11. Here's more on Apple's latest wearable and how you can pre-book one.
About cellular connectivity on Apple Watch Series 3
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) variant will work with all Jio connections at no additional cost. However, on Airtel, it will work only with postpaid Infinity plans. Notably, it is mandatory to have the same telecom operator on your Apple Watch and iPhone.
Pre-booking pages on Airtel and Jio websites are now live
To register, Airtel users need to enter their mobile numbers in order to get exclusive invites on May 11. With Jio, you can select your choice of the watch and enter your PIN code. You will then have to submit your personal information and make the payment for a successful pre-order. Jio customers will also get a free first-day home delivery.
Apple Watch is compatible with these iPhone models only
The Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) is compatible with iPhone SE, iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPhone 6S/6S Plus, iPhone 7/7Plus, iPhone 8/8 Plus, and iPhone X models only.
Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular uses an e-SIM for connections
The Apple Watch Series 3 comes with a cellular connection, and through an e-SIM, lets users make calls and send messages. You can also stream music via Apple Watch and receive app notifications even if your phone is not nearby. Moreover, this waterproof smartwatch also comes with Siri - Apple's smart assistant - which can perform tasks like setting a reminder or providing navigation instructions.
Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular is water-resistant, tracks fitness activity
The Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular features a more efficient dual-core processor and an improved GPS, Bluetooth, and wireless connectivity. It runs the watchOS 4 and comes with sensors that can track activities like walking, hiking, climbing, and heart rate. To be compatible, the smartwatch should be running watchOS 4.3 and your iPhone should be on iOS version 11.3 or above.
Price starts Rs. 39,080 onwards
The entry-level Aluminium case model with Sport Band is priced at Rs. 39,080 and Rs. 41,120 for the 38mm and 42mm case sizes respectively. The 38mm and 42mm Aluminium case with Nike Sport Band will cost Rs. 39,130 and Rs. 41,180 respectively. Jio website also reveals the pricing of the high-end Edition models: Rs. 1,18,030 for 38mm case and Rs. 1,22,090 for 42mm variant.
