Here's when Apple may launch its affordable Watch SE 3rd-generation
Apple's recent 'It's Glowtime' event on September 9, introduced several new products to the market. However, the much-anticipated Watch SE 3rd-generation was not unveiled. This absence does not necessarily indicate a cancelation of the project. As per Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who initially reported on this budget-friendly version of the smartwatch, development is still underway and the wearable could be launched next year.
Last update and future plans
The Apple Watch SE underwent its latest update in 2022, with the launch of the 2nd-generation series. The upcoming model is rumored to feature a plastic shell and offer vibrant colors that would appeal to young buyers and even parents looking to purchase an Apple Watch for their kids. However, it seems that Apple has encountered some production issues with the shift from aluminum to this new plastic design.
Plastic build may help keep the price in check
The Apple Watch SE was introduced in India starting at ₹24,900, but switching to plastic could enable Apple to lower the price, allowing it to better compete with brands that offer more affordably priced smartwatches. In addition to being slightly less expensive, the next Watch SE is expected to feature a new chip for faster performance.
