2025 iPad Air debuts with M3 chip and Apple Intelligence
What's the story
Apple has launched its latest tablet, the iPad Air, with a major upgrade in its processor.
The new model comes with the M3 chip and supports Apple Intelligence, the company's suite of AI features.
While this chip isn't Apple's latest and greatest, it is said to be twice as fast as the previous generation models running on the M1 and A14 Bionic chips.
Specifications
iPad Air comes in 2 sizes and 4 colors
The new iPad Air comes in four colors and two sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch. It is priced at $599 for the smaller model and $799 for the larger one.
In India, the tablet starts at ₹59,900.
Pre-orders for the new iPad Air are already open with first deliveries scheduled for March 12.
Apple has also introduced a new Magic Keyboard, which comes with an additional row of function keys and a bigger trackpad. It starts at $269.
Features
What else is new?
The new iPad Air's M3 chip packs an 8-core CPU, a 9-core GPU, and a 16-core NPU. It delivers double the performance of the M1 iPad Air released in 2022.
The remaining specifications are similar to last year's model such as screen sizes, display resolution, and 60Hz refresh rate.
You also get 12MP front and rear cameras, a USB-C 3.1 connector, and Touch ID inside the power button.
Apple did not update the Wi-Fi 6E or Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity standards.
