Red iPhones aim at supporting HIV/AIDS programs in Africa
The smartphones were first launched almost a month ago as part of Apple's partnership with (RED), an advocacy group that aims to combat HIV/AIDS in Africa. Since the collaboration in 2006, Apple has reportedly donated over $160 million to the organization, becoming its largest corporate donor. Apple claims its contribution helps affected people in Ghana, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Kenya, and Zambia.

"This special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone features a stunning red and black color combination and also offers customers the opportunity to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS," Greg Joswiak, Apple's Vice President of Product Marketing, said.
